Top hospitals in India showcase the country’s commitment to medical advancement. These healthcare facilities excel in various specialties, often at a fraction of the cost found in Western countries.

Christian Medical College, Vellore is known for its expertise in several medical fields. This multi-specialty hospital attracts patients from across the world for treatment.

    1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a top hospital in India that provides cutting-edge research and medical innovations. The institute aims to promote patient safety and healthcare through transparent management processes. It also aims to provide affordable and reliable tertiary care services to patients across the country.

The campus of AIIMS is located in the pristine location of Ansari Nagar East, South Delhi, which is close to popular markets such as GK and Delhi Haat. The campus also offers its students with exceptional infrastructural facilities.

Its B.B Dikshit library serves the needs of the institute’s personnel and students with its extensive collection of medical books. Additionally, the library provides services such as Patron Traffic Counter, Single Point Search facility and more.

In addition to MBBS and BSc Nursing, AIIMS offers various super-specialty courses at the master’s degree level. This includes fields such as rheumatology and neurology, among others. These courses offer students the opportunity to advance their education and gain valuable experience in the field. They also have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials and research projects, which are beneficial for their careers.

    2. Apollo Hospitals

Over the last three decades Apollo Hospitals has scripted one of the most magnificent success stories that India has seen. The group has been at the forefront of numerous game-changing innovations in healthcare. The company’s philosophy rests on the pillars of technological superiority, a warm patient centric approach, clear cost advantage and an edge in forward-looking research.

The group started out with the promise of bringing quality healthcare to India at a price that Indians can afford. Today, Apollo boasts a large network of hospitals and has earned the trust of millions across the globe.

Currently, Apollo has 71 hospitals and over 3000 pharmacies in the country along with primary care and diagnostic clinics.

Some of the key health procedures available at Apollo include Birmingham Hip Resurfacing Procedure, coronary angioplasty, cochlear implants, cancer treatments, stereotactic radiosurgery and cosmetic surgery among others. The hospital is also equipped with PET CT Scan Centre which helps in identifying tumours, their location and their spread. This enables physicians to devise the best treatment plan for patients.

    3. Fortis Healthcare

Fortis Healthcare is one of India’s top hospital chains and has received several awards. The hospital is also a leader in medical tourism and has welcomed delegates from over 15 countries.

While the facilities at Fortis Healthcare are state-of-the-art, they are not without their problems. For example, the covers for IV cannula hubs cost fractions of a paisa and are scarce in some of the hospitals. The hospital is also known for its high-tech equipment, such as a 256-slice CT that scans the heart in just 2-3 seconds and Brain Suite MRI, which can remove tumors in the brain without affecting other areas of the head.
